Welcome (& Welcome Back) to New (& Returning) Teachers

Port Lincoln High School has welcomed (and welcomed back) several new (and returning) teachers to our staff for the 2025 school year.
We asked them all to complete a brief profile to introduce (or reintroduce) themselves to our school community – we thank them all for sharing their details below.

My name is… Mr. Richard Barry.
My role at PLHS in 2025 is… to teach senior Mathematics and Physics.
Last year I was… working at Henley High School teaching Year 10 and 11 Mathematics; I had been there for many years teaching mainly senior Mathematics.
When I’m not at school, I like to… walk, go fishing, work with 3D printers and listen to audio books.
My name is… Ms. Vicki Bosisto.
My role at PLHS in 2025 is… to teach Stage 1 and 2 Visual Art, Community Studies and Photography at the Transition and Learning Centre.
Last year, I was… travelling the world!
When I’m not at school, I like to… paint, sing, go bushwalking, study, read books, look at my phone and watch movies.
My name is… Mrs. Mel McGown.
My role at PLHS in 2025 is… teachingIndonesian.
Last year, I was… introducing the Indonesian language program at Navigator College.
When I’m not at school I like to… catch up with friends, go to the beach and I do enjoy a bit of mindless reality TV!
My name is… Ms. Beck Paterson.
My role at PLHS in 2025 is… teaching Maths, Science and HPE to our Year 7 & 8 Hybrid classes.
Last year, I was… Learning Support Leader at Navigator College and taught middle school Maths, Science and senior Biology.
When I’m not at school, I like to… swim along the foreshore or in the jetty pool and spend quality time with my close friends and family.
My name is… Mrs. Amy Rowsell.
My role at PLHS in 2025 is… teaching Year 10 Photography and working as an AET (Aboriginal Education Teacher).
Last year, I was… teaching Art and Photography at the Transition and Learning Centre, as well as working part-time as a photographer.
When I’m not at school, I like to… spend time at the beach, surf, and spend time with family and friends!
My name is… Mrs. Kyra Scheffler.
My role at PLHS in 2025 is… to teach English, HASS and History.
Last year, I was… on maternity leave with our two young boys.
When I’m not at school, I like to… go to the beach, go camping, cook, and enjoy time with family.
My name is… Mr. Michael Scheffler.
My role at PLHS in 2025 is… to teach and inspire students in English, History and HASS.
Last year, I was… taking a career break from teaching; I was working as a real estate agent here in Port Lincoln.
When I’m not at school, I like to… spend time with my sons; I love fishing and spend a lot of time offshore; camping and playing music are also a huge driving force in my life outside of school.
My name is… Mrs. Gemma Seal.
My role at PLHS in 2025 is… to teach Home Ec. and HPE on Thursdays and Fridays.
Last year, I was… on maternity leave with my bub Jedd who is 11 months old.
When I’m not at school, I like to… go for long walks, coffee catchups with friends, swimming and beach trips with Jedd, Pilates classes and watching reality TV.
My name is… Mr. James Zanello.
My role at PLHS in 2025 is… teaching English and HASS.
Last year, I was… working at St. Joseph’s School here in Port Lincoln, teaching English, HASS and Research Project.
When I’m not at school, I like to… take my dog for walks, play table tennis (badly), and watch AFL.
