NAPLAN in May 2022
Port Lincoln High School is participating in NAPLAN testing again this year with Year 7’s & Yr 9’s.
NAPLAN (National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy) is a series of tests focused on basic skills that are administered annually to Australian students. At PLHS, we value the importance of the tests to provide us with the necessary data to help your child be as successful as possible.
NAPLAN tests the sorts of skills that are essential for every child to progress through school and life, such as reading, writing, spelling, grammar and numeracy. It is important to remember that NAPLAN is not about passing or failing, but about assessing learning progress.
We hope that you will encourage your student/s to participate and do their best.
Testing Dates for 2022: Tuesday May 10th ~ Friday May 20th
(with catch-up days on Friday 13th & Friday 20th)
NAPLAN is comprised of tests in the four areas (or ‘domains’) of:
- reading
- writing
- language conventions (spelling, grammar and punctuation)
- numeracy
We are able to use our NAPLAN results to tailor our curriculum to better meet the needs of our students.
