Beau & Christian Represent PLHS at National MTB Comp
Earlier this month, Year 10 students Beau Hood and Christian Farrow travelled to Thredbo in the New South Wales Snowy Mountains to represent PLHS at the 2024 Boost Mobile Australian Mountain Bike Interschools competition (March 4th–8th).
Both boys attempted the following three Division 2 events against seasoned competitors from around the country:
1. Fox Flow Motion Cup (a long track full of turns jumps, and some technical sections):
- Beau placed 102 out of 500
- Christian placed 159 out of 500
2. Oakley Cannonball Downhill (a super technical trail full of rock gardens, berms, big jumps and features, and tight corners):
- Christian placed 122 out of 500
- Beau placed 177 out of 500
3. Rockshox Pump Track (a short loop of rollers and turns with no pedalling after the first roller):
- Christian placed 46 out of 150
- Beau placed 89 out of 150
Both Beau and Christian represented themselves and PLHS with their very best level of commitment and focus; I think they learned a thing or two along the way and had a lot of fun as well.
Congratulations on a job well done, lads!
~ Ms. Stephanie Hood (PLHS parent)
