House Captains Inducted at Whole School Assembly

Our first whole school assembly for the year was staged inside the school’s Gymnasium earlier today. In front of their peers and proud parents, our recently elected House Captains for 2025 were officially announced and inducted.
After being introduced by Deputy Principal Mrs. Lesley Warren, today’s occasion was wonderfully compered by our 2025 School Captains, Sophie Lang and Liam Akehurst. Following an Acknowledgement of Country from Year 7 student Charlie Densley and Year 8 student Lyndah Jeffrey-Richards, Principal Mr. Craig Akehurst explored the linked themes of belonging, crew, leadership and success during his Principal’s Address.
Having previously been elected by their peers, each student leader was then individually announced by HPE Faculty Leader Miss Tayla Helbig and presented with a house-coloured Certificate of Achievement.
Following the ceremony, the School Captains, House Captains and their parents enjoyed a celebratory morning tea in the Staff Room. This was the first time since COVID that we have provided this option to families – it is something that we are looking to build on with future academic assemblies as a genuine reward for effort.
We congratulate our 2025 House Captains (listed below) on their successful appointment and wish them well in these important roles. Their work begins in earnest tomorrow as they lead their respective houses through the first of two Standards Days.
