PE Week Colour Run Info for Parents/Students
Dear Parent/Caregiver,
Please be advised that on Friday November 15th (during Lessons 5 & 6), your child will be involved in the annual Colour Run here at Port Lincoln High School. The Colour Run (or walk) acknowledges National PE Week across Australia, as well as celebrating the end of another big year.
The Colour Run involves students completing a set course around the school and oval surrounds, in which colour stations will be set up for them to pass through. Each station will vary in colour, allowing the students to collect as much colour as possible on themselves! The colour powder has been purchased from Holi Colour Powder and is advertised as non-toxic, non-flammable, skin-safe, environmentally friendly and biodegradable. If you would like more information, then you can visit their website at https://holicolourpowder.com.au/.
The powdered colour is promoted as being wash-friendly, however we encourage students to wear an old t-shirt or something they would not mind getting a little messy in, just in case (preferably something white for colour effect!). Further washing instructions can be found on the website listed above.
We encourage all to attend and participate so please ensure your child is wearing appropriate footwear for a run/walk. We also encourage students to bring a hat and water bottle with them (sunscreen will be provided).
The Colour Run will be held after lunch on Friday, with students then being dismissed at normal time. Students will participate in the Colour Run from approximately 2–2:30pm; they will then celebrate further with games and activities on the oval run by the PE Faculty.
Please don’t hesitate to call the school with any questions or queries.
Kind regards,
Tayla Helbig (Curriculum Leader: HPE) & Craig Akehurst (Principal)
