Phone-free Learning Commences at PLHS
Phone-free Learning Commences at PLHS
Earlier today, Port Lincoln High School commenced the process of transitioning to a mobile phone-free learning environment. This significant change in direction has been facilitated by an external company called Yondr, and entails students securing their mobile devices inside individual pouches. These have already been issued (at the end of an information session) to our Year 12, Year 11 and Year 10 students, with the Year 8’s and 9’s to follow later today.
Parents and caregivers will be able to leave a message for a student by ringing the school, contacting the student’s Dharna Group teacher via SEQTA Engage or contacting the student directly via SEQTA Learn.
We are seeking parental and caregiver support on this policy change that is designed to foster improved student engagement and result in better learning outcomes and wellbeing.
