PLHS Represents at 2025 Port Lincoln Show
Congratulations to the PLHS staff and students who represented the school with pride at yesterday’s Port Lincoln Show. Our people were involved in a both delivering and participating in a range of engaging activities, including:
- a PLHS Aquaculture display featuring an aquarium filled with live barramundi and an opportunity for patrons to Adopt-a-Barra; onya Tuffers!
- an information stand dedicated to the imminent launch of our Old Scholars’ Association
- several PLHS Music students who performed on stage throughout the day; they included Taj Williams (who played guitar with Johnny Murray), “The 23s” – Dhanura Madiarachchige, Jordan Webster, Simon Hennessy, Lucas Dixon, Kiarna Letton, Jasmine Tiller, Braxton Proctor (Port Lincoln Primary School) and Luis Guamen, “Dan’s Hallway” – Cooper Hale, Aidan McMillan and Josh Flanigan, and “Miasma” – Summer Thorpe and Josh Flanigan; special mentions must go to the dedicated teachers who ably supported these students, both on and off stage – Mr. Colin Campbell and Mr. Scott McConnell (“The 23s”), and Mr. Stephen Campbell (Taj, “Dan’s Hallway” and “Miasma”)
- eight PLHS students competing in a fun Kids’ Cooking Competition wonderfully hosted by local celebrity chef Tony Ford and Sardine Industry Association boss Claire Webber; well done to our four teams – Aiza Blayney & Mckenzie Doudle, Iesha Noack & Ari Weetra, Neve Thomas & Willoh Brown, and Skyler Little & Elsa Burgar – for participating, especially Skyler and Elsa who took out first prize
The fine weather, big crowds and busy program combined to make this year’s Port Lincoln Show one of the most enjoyable in recent memory. Congratulations to President Semi Skoljarev and his team for their outstanding efforts – we are thankful for the invitation to participate in so many ways this year and look forward to next year’s event.
