Proposed 2021 Materials & Services Charge
11 September 2020
Dear Parent/Caregivers,
Section 106A of the Education Act enables schools, in consultation with the school council/community to set, collect and recover a Material & Services Charge. Below is the written verification from the Chief Executive Officer in the form of a “Watermarked Notice” – Notice (1) is for Year 8/New Students, Notice (2) is appropriate for all other students.
The Governing Council will be holding a meeting on October 14th, 2020 at 6:30pm in the Port Lincoln High School Staff Room, where this charge will be discussed prior to approval being sought. The legally recoverable “standard sum” will also be discussed at this meeting; we extend an invitation to all parent/caregivers to participate.
Please RSVP your intention to attend this meeting by 4pm Monday 12th October. In lieu of attendance, parent/caregivers can express their views in writing to the Chairperson of the Governing Council prior to the meeting.
Yours sincerely,
Donna Thomson (PLHS Business Manager)
