Sincere Thanks to Our Invaluable SSO Crew

This week (August 18–22) is SSO Week for 2025. School Services Officers (SSO) provide invaluable administrative and learning support across all SA government schools/preschools.
On behalf of the broader PLHS community, we wish to publicly acknowledge the incredible work that our ancillary crew perform at our school on a daily basis – this was acknowledged at a celebratory morning tea yesterday. They undertake a wide variety of essential roles, from managing admin and finance, to providing crucial in-class support, to maintaining important facilities and programs such as our Resource Centre, Laboratories/Workshops, ICT systems and Grounds.

PS: Earlier today, our Room 22 students made an amazing cake and wrote thoughtful messages to share with their SSO staff. The following message posted by their teacher, Miss Lucy Hynes…
“In theme of SSO Week, Room 22 would like to say thank you to every single SSO who has worked in our space. Thank you for helping us grow as learners; also, thank you for helping us grow in our resilience, our confidence, and our ability to believe in ourselves. You support us not only with our schoolwork but also with kindness, patience, and encouragement every single day. We are grateful for all the big and small ways you make a difference in our lives.”
