Three PLHS Teams Compete at Super 8’s Cricket
Each year, several schools around the Lower Eyre Peninsula take part in an annual Super 8’s cricket competition. The carnival has been running for ten years and is offered to Year 7, 8 and 9 students.
This modified version of the game of cricket features a seven-over-per-side game, allowing for plenty of boundaries and lots of fun. The short-game format allows the five participating schools to play a full round-robin competition, with each team playing four games. PLHS nominated three teams – Year 7 Boys, Year 8/9 Boys and Year 7/8/9 Girls. Each team had a great day, playing with great sportsmanship and ensuring that everyone had a bat and a bowl.
Congratulations to our Year 7 Boys (pictured below); they played Navigator College in their final game and won a nail-biter by five runs – as a result, they went undefeated across their four games and won the Year 7 competition.
