PLHS SAASTA Students Attend 2024 Power Cup
Last week, our twenty-four senior SAASTA students travelled to Adelaide to participate in the 2024 SANTOS Aboriginal Power Cup. Accompanied by Miss Susan Doyle and Mr. Hayden Bennett, we combined with Cummins Area School students for the first time in the event’s seventeen-year history.
The first day was spent listening to a range of inspiring Indigenous trailblazers and leaders, and exploring a health and career expo. This was followed by a two-day football carnival at Port Adelaide’s Alberton Oval; the round-robin competition was played by over 600 SAASTA students from all around the state, and culminated with a spectacular cultural dance and AFL game experience before the Port Power versus Carlton match at Adelaide Oval.
