First Jobs Presentation for Year 9 Cohort
Earlier today, our Year 9 students were privileged to hear from representatives from several local businesses about what they look for in an employee, and possibilities for various job pathways. Other topics discussed included the skills that students can learn as an employee, examples of shift times/lengths and pay levels, and various methods to apply for part-time jobs.
Following the formal presentations, the Year 9’s were given the opportunity to approach the company reps to ask clarifying questions and collect recruitment material.
We sincerely thank the staff from Bunnings, McDonald’s, Mitre 10/Total Tools and Woolworths for their sharing their valuable time and experience in the Resource Centre today. We are so pleased that events like this can occur to enable our students to be exposed to our local industries.
~ Ms. Tiff Evans (Student Pathways)
