And We’re Off! Day One Done at PLHS
Almost 850 PLHS students completed their first day of the 2025 school year today – for our excited new Year 7’s, it was their very first day of high school.
The day began at 8:40am with a brief whole-school assembly in the Gym hosted by PLHS Principal Mr. Craig Akehurst. Following the Principal’s welcome and address, students broke into their new sub-school Channels – 7/8, 9/10 or 11/12 – for some more targeted year-level messages.
In order to assist all students to get organised for regular classes to commence, an extended Dharna Crew session was provided until recess time. This enabled hundreds of school-issued laptops to be successfully deployed, as well as stationery packs and Yondr pouches. Computer usernames/passwords were established, individual timetables were printed and for the Year 7’s, a scavenger hunt was run and won.
Well done to all in attendance today on such a positive and productive start to the year – Non Nobis Solum!
