Ashlyn Raises Over $500 for Diabetes Australia

My name is Ashlyn Eming and I am a Year 11 student at PLHS – for my SACE Stage 2 AIF project, I wanted to raise awareness and funds for Diabetes Australia.
Last Monday – during both recess and lunch – I hosted a bake sale, with options such as gluten free and vegan available. I also had information sheets about diabetes for people who visited my stall.
I eventually sold everything, raising around $260. When combined with my other fundraising efforts (including donations), I made a total of $581 for Diabetes Australia.
I am pleased that I was able to achieve my original goal of raising $500, but my project is about more than just the money; it is also about lowering the stigma surrounding diabetes, and to create a better environment for people with diabetes.
Here is a link to my page for anyone who still wishes to donate: https://give.diabetesaustralia.com.au/s/62/57
