PLHS Crew Participates in Remembrance Day Observance
Earlier today, Port Lincoln High School paused to observe a minute’s silence to honour and remember those who lost their lives in service of our country. At 11am, Year 11 student Kiarna Letton read a special message across the school’s PA system, concluding with the Ode of Remembrance.
Meanwhile, across at the Port Lincoln War Memorial in Eyre Park, several PLHS students were invited to participate in the city’s official Remembrance Day ceremony.
Before the service commenced, six of our Clontarf Academy boys – Scott Kropinyeri, Brody Dunnett, Jase Lennon, Kyson Driver-Roderick, Shadley Coffin and Leo Warrior, accompanied by Operations Officer Mr. Casey Amos – were invited by members of the Port Lincoln RSL to plant a field of ceramic poppies into the Eyre Park lawns.
During the official observance, PLHS School Captain Sophie Lang laid a wreath on behalf of our school community; Sophie was supported by Year 11 student and Army Cadet, Max Stanley. A proud Brody also supported Aboriginal Vietnam veteran Mr. Gil Green to lay his wreath.
The PLHS staff in attendance were extremely proud of the responsible, respectful and inclusive manner in which our crew participated in today’s proceedings.
Lest We Forget.
