Letter to PLHS Parents re: WASSAC 2021
Dear PLHS parent/caregivers,
On Monday March 22nd (Week 9), Port Lincoln High School will host the annual Western Area Secondary Schools Athletics Carnival (WASSAC) at Ravendale. Students will travel from the Far West region, Port Augusta and Whyalla to compete. Port Lincoln High School and Navigator College will also enter teams, with age divisions ranging from Under 14’s up to Open. Individual students are selected for their school’s team by winning an event at their respective sports days or interschool carnivals.
Port Lincoln High School staff will be involved in running the 2021 WASSAC carnival; accordingly, there will be a modified program offered at school that day, with minimal staff on site. There will be no school canteen available. Athletes who have been selected in the PLHS team will receive a letter home from their PE Coordinator in due course which will outline all the important details pertinent to those students.
Events at WASSAC will commence at 9:30am. Spectators are allowed to attend but must sign in at the COVID QR check-in station near the entrance to the seating area at Ravendale. There will be a coffee caravan on site and Ravendale’s canteen will also be open.
If you require any further information at this time, please don’t hesitate to contact the school on 8683-6000.
Regards,
Ms Tara Puckridge (WASSAC Convenor) & Mr Todd George (PLHS Principal)
