Strong Performances from PLHS Basketball Teams
Year 7 & 8 Boys
Thursday October 27th saw the Year 7/8 Boys compete in a School Sport SA basketball competition at St Joseph’s School. We took two teams to the event – a Division A (Year 8 Boys) team who were coached by Year 12 students Tait Appleton and Oliver Sellen, and a Division B (Year 7 Boys) squad coached by Year 11’s Charlie Day, Kade Mullins and Archer Appleton.
Both teams represented PLHS extremely well, displaying sportsmanship and respect for the umpires, their peers and their competitors.
The Year 7 Boys went through the day undefeated and took home the championship pennant. Their team of six worked well together on the court and demonstrated some fantastic talent. Meanwhile, the Year 8 Boys finished in equal first place but were unfortunately pipped by Navigator College on percentage. Our team displayed the School Sport SA values in many of their games; there were some outstanding passages of play and a high standard of skill from our players.
Well done to all the students who attended; a special thank you must go to our senior school students (Ollie, Tait, Charlie, Kade and Archer) who did an amazing job coaching throughout the day.
~ Miss Yasmin Stewart & Mr Tyson Collins (Attending Teachers)

Year 7/8 Girls
Ms. Shannon Nagel (PLHS) and Miss Abbey Degner (Cummins Area School) took some of the Year 7/8 girls to be involved in a School Sport SA basketball competition hosted by Navigator College.
The girls participated in an enthusiastic and respectful manner for the whole day, eventually bringing home both the Division A and Division B pennants. Thank you to Cameron Sellen (PLHS Year 9) for helping to facilitate the day by umpiring eight games!
