PLHS Library Staff Win Regional Excellence Award
On February 14th, the School Library Association of South Australia announced our school library (staff) as winners of a Regional Excellence Award. This is an inaugural award designed to encourage library staff to further develop their professional learning and to recognise the positive contribution they make to their community.
We were able to demonstrate positive engagement with our school community and involvement in a range of professional development opportunities to continuously improve our service and collection. This includes our ongoing promotional displays, participation in professional networks, and reading promotion through engagement of classes and one-on-one support with text selection, which effectively doubled our lending rates from Term 1-3 in 2022.
We are eager to improve on this in 2023, but we need your help! We will be engaging classes to visit so students have the opportunity to find a text and/or can seek help with finding the right text for them. Please encourage our students to read at home.
~ Ms. Glenda George (PLHS Teacher/Librarian)
