Another Successful PLHS Art/Design Trip

A group of senior Visual Arts students spent the last two days of Term 1 in Adelaide, participating in the annual PLHS Year 12 Art/Design Trip.
Once again, the packed itinerary included a wide variety of amazing venues. For the designers, these included KSDesign (graphic design studio), KWP! (advertising agency), Khai Liew (furniture designer) an architectural tour of the SAHMRI building, the Bang & Olufsen showroom, and the Alessi/Georg Jensen displays at David Jones.
Meanwhile, artists visited the Art Gallery of South Australia, CDW Studios (school of visual effects and entertainment design) and a range of thought-provoking public and street art.
These exciting options were combined with traditional favourites such as UniSA’s City West campus, the JamFactory art/craft/design centre and the annual SACE Art Show – it was great to see the work of four of our 2022 students on display in this elite showcase.
It is hoped that exposure to this array of contemporary art/design experiences will provide our students with inspiration for their remaining projects, and a greater understanding of related tertiary and career options.
We sincerely thank their families for supporting the students to attend, and to Mrs. Jenny Silver for her valuable assistance throughout the trip.
~ Mr Shaun Thomas (Design) & Ms Wanda Jarvis (Art)
