17 PLHS Athletes Selected for Far West SSSSA Team
Congratulations to all who competed in the annual WASSAC athletics carnival on Monday. Our students exceeded themselves and worked tirelessly to compete; we are very proud of their efforts! We thank those students who stepped up and competed in events not originally intended for them. We also thank the PLHS staff who assisted in the running of the day. Without the work of these staff members, (specifically Tara Puckridge, Marianne Cox, Shannon Nagel and Todd George), WASSAC simply would not have run this year.
A massive well done must also go to Siann Cross, who broke the Under 16 Girls Shot Put Record. Other major results from the day:
- U/16 Girls Age Group Champion: Amelia Stevens
- U/16 Boys Age Group Runner-Up: Jake Siviour
- Open Boys Age Group Champion: Dannen Blacker
- Overall Champions: Open Boys
- Overall Champions: U/16 Boys
- 3rd Overall Shield Champions: PLHS
From these WASSAC results, a Far West athletics team is created (in conjunction with Navigator College, Far West (Ceduna, Crossways Lutheran, Elliston, Miltaburra, Karcultaby and Streaky Bay) and PLHS), to compete in the Secondary School Sport SA Athletics Carnival at SANTOS Stadium on Thursday April 8th (Week 11). These students will travel via EP Bus Charters with Miss Jasmine Woldt, Mr Hayden Bennett and accompanying Navigator College staff/students on Wednesday April 7th (Week 11), departing at 1pm.
Please join me in congratulating the following PLHS students who have been selected to represent Far West:
- Tayah Liffner
- Taj Williams
- Max Rodda
- Anna Te Wano
- Keely Wiseman
- Toby Rawles
- Cody Manuel

Regards,
~ Miss Yasmin Stewart (Senior Curriculum Leader: HPE)
