Another Brilliant Clontarf Awards Ceremony

The Port Lincoln Clontarf Academy staged its fourth annual awards ceremony earlier this week, to celebrate the success of our 51 Clontarf Foundation members for 2022. For the first time, the event was held at the Port Lincoln Yacht Club, a larger venue than our Academy Room at PLHS, but one that could barely cater for the large crowd of special guests, program partners, families, school staff and students in attendance.
The evening commenced with guests enjoying a tasty supper provided by Clontarf staff and volunteers. Two Year 9 students – Lucas Retallick and Hudson Saunders – performed admirably throughout the night as the ceremony’s MC’s, with Year 10 student Dre Vlassco delivering an Acknowledgement of Country.
The special awards (listed below) were then announced by a range of presenters, including invited guests, program partners and PLHS staff; they all recognised the boys’ achievements in the fields of attendance, leadership, well-being, sport, education and employment. Each recipient diligently delivered a heartfelt acceptance speech after receiving their certificate/prize.
Congratulations to all award-winners and their families on this wonderful recognition. Special mentions must go to Academy Director Jack Yeoman and Operations Officer Derick Wanganeen for organising and delivering another brilliant ceremony, and for their passionate efforts managing our Clontarf Academy throughout 2022.
