Athletics Standards Day (for Year 10/11/12’s)
Dear parents/caregiver,
Port Lincoln High School’s annual athletics Standards Day will be held on the February 26th (Monday Week 5). Standards Day is an opportunity for students to build their confidence in athletic events and earn points for their house in the lead up to Sports Day.
To minimise disruptions to classes, gain more accurate data and simplify the event selection process for House Captains, Junior (Years 7, 8 & 9) Standards Day data has been collected within HPE lesson time. The Senior School students (Years 10, 11 & 12) will take part in the traditional rotations held on Monday February 26th.
Year 10/11/12 students will be participating in one session for the day, in which they work as a team to earn points for their house. Students will attend normal lessons outside this allocated session. Points are awarded based on participation in each event, with extra points awarded for excellence in performance.
Junior and Senior House Captains and Vice-Captains accompany students around the rotation of events, encouraging and recording their scores, while knowledgeable staff assist with specific technique, safety and rules.
The times below indicate when each year level will be participating throughout the day.
| DAY/LESSON | TIME | YEAR LEVEL |
| LESSON 1 & 2 Junior & Senior Girls and Boys (return to class if finish early) | 9:00 – 10:30 | 1500m Event (for Sports Day) |

| LESSON 5 & 6 (return to class if finish early) | 1:30 – 3:10 | Year 11/12s BRIDGE TLC ROOM 22/23 |
Sports Day will be held March 7th (Thursday Week 6) at the Ravendale Sporting Complex, with more information to be distributed in the coming weeks.
Kind regards,
~ Mrs. Yasmin Sampson (HPE Curriculum Leader)
