Crew Spirit Shown at Girls Basketball Comp
PLHS sent two teams of Year 7 and 8 girls to yesterday’s basketball carnival at Navigator College, with schools from all over the EP in attendance. Our girls formed two teams of varying year levels and basketball experience to ensure that everyone enjoyed their day.
Our Division A team struggled to convert their baskets, with the scoreboard failing to reflect how hard they competed in every match. They showed great resilience and kept improving throughout the day. Meanwhile, our Division B team won the majority of their matches, missing out on a place in the grand final by an agonising 1%.
In true crew spirit, our girls displayed incredible sportsmanship and teamwork throughout the carnival; they were flexible in helping out both teams and worked cohesively together all day. Further, PLHS supplied more than our fair share of umpires and scorers.
Congratulations to the other teams (especially those who travelled in) for their excellent competition and thank you to Navigator College for hosting the event.
~ Elke Thomas (Year 11 / Team Coach)
