Japanese Students Receive Gifts from Muroto HS
Our Year 10/11 Japanese students recently received a parcel from our friends at Muroto High School. Inside were gifts that had been hand-made by MHS students as part of the celebrations of the first anniversary of our sister school connection.
The Muroto High students sewed chopstick wrappers in their Home Economics class, using material with culturally significant patterns; they also incorporated the logo created by PLHS student Ursula Clarke as part of the design. The MHS students have been trying to use re-useable chopsticks (instead of disposable ones) to save the environment; they wanted to share this important aspect of their culture with our school.
Our students were extremely grateful for these thoughtful and generous gifts; they are looking forward to practising their chopstick skills.
