Lani Cocks – Vice Captain, MVP & All-Australian

Congratulations to PLHS Year 10 student Lani Cocks on her outstanding success at the recent Under 16’s AFL National Development Championships in Melbourne.
Lani was vice-captain of the formidable South Australian team, which won both matches to secure the Pool A title from Vic Metro on percentage. The Croweaters remain undefeated since 2022, having won their last six matches in succession including this year’s contests against Western Australia in Perth (13 points) and the Brisbane Lions Academy in Adelaide (56 points).
A pacey midfielder/defender, Lani averaged 23 disposals at 74 per cent efficiency, along with 4.5 marks and 2.5 clearances.
On top of her wonderful team success, Lani won a host of individual accolades – she was named as the MVP of the Championships (and SA’s MVP), whilst also being selected on the half-back flank of the All-Australian side.
We congratulate Lani, her family and her local club (Bostons) on these incredible achievements and look forward to charting her progress in the coming years.
