Lumination Learning Lab Launched at PLHS

Port Lincoln High School’s exciting new Lumination Learning Lab was officially launched last night in front of a large crowd of interested special guests, staff and students.
The proceedings on the Stamford Floor commenced with an Acknowledgement of Country from Principal Student Leader Nathaniel Hirschausen-Burk. This was followed by welcome and explanatory addresses from Principal Student Leader Denise Sadiwa, Principal Mr. Todd George and Lab Champion Mrs. Joh Walding.
After a briefing from Lumination Learning Designer Jolanta Stephens, it was time for those in attendance to trial our incredible new facilities and equipment. The young and the young-at-heart alike spent the next hour eagerly immersing themselves in a host of virtual reality and augmented reality worlds. These included all manner of artistic, cultural, historical, technological and scientific experiences, as well as several fun physical activities.
The enthusiasm levels and smiling faces throughout the room suggest that PLHS has invested wisely in a highly engaging and beneficial facility – these advanced immersive learning technologies have the potential to enhance our teaching and learning capabilities and better prepare our students for the workforce of the future.
