Massive Mural Commences on the Big Blue Wall
The big blue wall at the back of the PLHS Hall has intrigued current PLHS students/staff for months, not to mention the hundreds of visitors to the campus over our recent “Centenary Celebration Weekend”. We are pleased to announce that work has finally commenced on a massive mural over the top of the blue base coat – and it already looks spectacular!
The school has engaged several highly talented artists – Thomas Readett (from TR Visual Arts), Mike Sander and Shane Cook – to completely transform the eight metre high and nineteen metre wide brick wall. We are wondering if this will become the largest artwork in our community…
Despite strong, hot winds on Monday evening, the design was successfully projected onto the wall and sketched out; painting began yesterday in between the showers – hopefully, the team get more favourable conditions for the rest of this week.
The project is being captured by Mark Thomas from Missing Link Media – we look forward to sharing more images (and video) soon.
