PLHS Crew Supporting “Fred’s Van” Again in 2025
Another year of Fred’s Van kicked off for our PLHS group last night (Sunday April 6th) – I want to say a huge heartfelt thank you to all who supported.
Firstly, thank you to my Stage 1 Essential Math students – Jesse Baldock, Cruz Brown, Kordell Buzzacott, Darcy Edwards, Amelia Da Cunha, Amelia Fiebig, Mia Fiore, Teata-Mai McDonnell, Lloydey McLean, Isacc Sampson, Toby Sizer, Oliyena Thomas, Mahlia Vlassco, Piper Wahlin and Natania Watene – for peeling potatoes, cooking sausage rolls, baking brownies and making a veggie bake.
Secondly, thank you to Bill, Josh and Will van Riet for helping with the set-up on the day.
Thirdly, thank you to PLHS staff Kirsty Ralston, Beck Paterson, Michelle Williams, Sam Hartwell, Amber Lovell and Helen Marks for setting up, preparing and serving food and for cleaning up. Finally, a very special thank you to Ricky Dennis for helping with the cleaning up.
What is Fred’s Van? Under the banner of Vinnies, Fred’s Van runs on a Sunday night from 5-6pm providing soup, hot meals and dessert to whoever walks through the doors of St. Mary’s Church Hall (14 Mortlock Terrace). It runs due to Port Lincoln businesses donating their services and products, and volunteers who cook, bake and organise their team ready for service at 5pm most Sundays of the year.
We are always looking for food donations and volunteers; if you are interested, please contact PLHS and leave a message for Nat van Riet – I promise I will get back to you.
PLHS Fred’s Van Crew dates:
- Sunday May 25th
- Sunday June 15th
- Sunday August 3rd
- Sunday September 21st
- Sunday November 9th
We look forward to your support.
~ Mrs. Nat van Riet (Event Organiser)
