Seth & Prapti “Light Up” SA Bush Summit

The inaugural SA Bush Summit was staged here in Port Lincoln earlier this week, with participants including SA Premier Peter Malinauskas, state government ministers Tom Koutsantonis, Clare Scriven and Nick Champion, SA Senator Anne Ruston, regional business leaders Darren Thomas, Hagen Stehr and Adam Giles, fashion designer Emily Riggs, multi-tourism award winner Warrick Duthy and Indigenous leader Parry Agius.
As we reported previously, PLHS Year 11 students Seth Kayser and Prapti Pai were also invited to attend; they (along with India Ciura) were asked to engage with media identity Andrew ‘Cosi’ Costello in a youth-focussed panel discussion. According to adelaidennow.com.au, the “trio of Teen Parliament legends lit up the Bush Summit” with their “inspiring” conversation.
The adelaidennow.com.au report went on to describe how “Seth spoke of his big idea for the state to embrace a nuclear energy future, India addressed a shortage of mental health services in the regions and Prapti spoke of her big idea to overhaul the education system to better cater from an earlier stage those set on a trade career.
The trio also spoke of the advantages and challenges of living in the country as youths, highlighting the sense of community as an advantage.
Seth said the best way to keep young talent in the regions would be to take more tertiary learning opportunities to regional SA and to have dedicated mentors for youth.”
We congratulate Seth and Prapti for representing PLHS and on their spirited participation in the Bush Summit.
