Dodd/Paterson Crew Deliver Learning Showcase
What an incredible way to wrap up Term 1! Earlier today, our Year 7 Dodd/Paterson Crew students stepped up and truly shone in their Learning Showcase, presenting their “beautiful work” on Ancient Civilisations and Astronomy to a live audience of peers and staff.
In HASS and English, each student researched and wrote a historical narrative about an ancient civilisation of their choice. For Science and Maths, they brought history to life by building scale models of ancient timekeeping or navigation tools. They then explained the scientific principles and mathematical concepts behind how these technologies worked.
Every student took the stage with confidence, delivering engaging Canva presentations, reading clearly, and speaking with pride. The feedback from staff and fellow students was unanimous: these young scholars were well-prepared, articulate, and deeply knowledgeable.
Seeing them step outside their comfort zones and present as proud experts of their own learning was more than just a moment—it was a celebration of resilience, belonging, and collective achievement.
A huge congratulations to all of the following students; we are beyond proud of you!
- Nathan Harrold-Richards – Ancient Incas and the Intihuatana Stone (Machu Pichu)
- Willis Trott – Ancient Egyptians – Shadow Clocks
- Mason Miller – Ancient Chinese – Si Nan司南
- Lucas Hull – Aboriginal Australians – Walking Sticks
- Kaitlyn Isaacson & Maddison Hurrell – Ancient Mayans – El Castillo Temple
- Reid Connolly & Ethan Woolford – Ancient Greeks – Water Clocks
